Socrative is a web based student response system that functions without student response devices. Students have a choice of input options such as a desktop computer, laptop computer, iPad, or smart phone.

2. Click "Get a Free Account"
3. Complete the Teacher Registration form.
Changing Room Number

1. Log In to your Socrative account
2. On the main screen, click on "Menu"
3. Click "My Profile"
4. Enter desired room number or name in the Room name box
5. Scroll down to the bottom and click "Save"

The teacher will:
1. Log In to your Socrative account
2. On the main screen, click on "Quick Question"
3. Provide students with a verbal question, type in a question, or use a question from a PowerPoint or website. Decide on the settings for the question.
4. Click Start
The student will:
1. Log in to the teacher's "room"
2. Wait for the teacher to provide the question and start the activity
3. Type response in the window
4. Submit
*On the teacher account, all submitted answers are visible. Submitted answers can be filtered by the teacher. The teacher can select "Start Vote" to make all answers visible to students and allow them to select the top answers.

2. On main page, click "Exit Ticket" There are 3 questions pre-populated. Question number 3 is "Please answer the teacher's question." The teacher will need to have a question ready.
3. Once all students have responded, click "End Activity"

5. Student names and responses will be in a spreadsheet
The student will:
1. Log in to the teacher's "room"
2. Answer as prompted
3. Submit
Creating A Quiz
Creating a Quiz 1. Log in to the teacher's account. 2. Click "Manage Quizzes" on the home screen. 3. Select "Create a Quiz". 4. Name the quiz. 5. Quizzes are automatically shared. To disable sharing, click "Shared". 6. Click to choose the type of question for Question 1. 7. Type the question. 8. If multiple choice, type in answer choices and check the box for the correct answer. 9. If you wish to add an image, at the bottom of the question box, click "Add Image" 10. Repeat 6-9 for additional questions 11. Click "Save" Alternative: Create Quiz using the Excel template and then import it.
As students have complete an activity:
Live Results will show the teacher results of the activity as the students are completing it.
After students have completed an activity:
1. Click End Activity.
2. A pop-up window will open.
3. Options to view results of the activity are:
a. Email Report - Report will be emailed to the email address shared
with Socrative.
b. Download Report - Report will be downloaded to your computer as
an Excel spreadsheet.
c. Google Drive
d. View Chart
e. View later
After selecting the report type, select options, if available. Click "Submit"
Sharing A Quiz
(*The SOC # is also available when quizzes are first created.)
To Share:
1. Go to Manage Quizzes.
2. Select My Quizzes and choose a saved quiz.
3. Click Edit Quiz.
4. Select the Enable Sharing box.
5. Copy the SOC number and share the number.
To Import a Shared Quiz:
1. Go to Manage Quizzes.
2. Select Import Quiz
3. Enter the shared SOC number.
4. Click "Import Quiz"
Running a Pre-Made Quiz
1. Click "Start a Quiz".
2. Select desired quiz.
3. Decide on the pace and additional settings for the quiz.
4. Click "Start"

1. Select Space Race on the main page.
2. Select a saved multiple choice quiz.
a. Choose the number of teams (1-10).
b. Select Auto-Assign Team Colors, if desired.
3. Select Next.
The teacher's screen will reflect the race. It is a good idea to project this for the students to see.
Students will answer questions on their computer.
NOTE: In order to fully understand Socrative you will need to open two separate Internet windows or have two devices side by side. This will allow you to see the teacher screen and the student screen.
